Learning Areas Learning Objectives
Teaching Methodology

(70 Hours)
  1. Elements of Instruction:
    • 7 Elements – Theory and Practice
    • Following a lesson plan using the 7 elements
  2. Differentiated Instruction:
    • Rationale, goals and principles of a differentiated classroom
    • Strategies and tools associated with differentiation
    • Developing a lesson plan using Differentiated Instruction
  3. An Engaging Teacher:
    • Using visual aids effectively
    • Promoting discussion and interactive activities
  4. Building Academic Skills:
    • Developing critical thinking
    • Chumash and Gemara: Tricks of the trade
  5. Multi Media:
    • Technology in the classroom
Student Teaching Initiative
(10 sessions)
Students will be paired with local school teachers for the purpose of student teaching and mentorship.
Classroom Management

(33 Hours)
  1. Setting Up Your Classroom for Success
    • Starting the school year on the right foot
  2. Creating a Learning Environment:
    • Structuring a learning-friendly classroom
    • The teacher as a role model
  3. Classroom Discipline:
    • A balanced and controlled approach to effective discipline
    • Instilling respect instead of fear
  4. The School Community:
    • Engaging peers and superiors
    • Parents as partner
    • Responsibility & Accountability
The Learning Process

(40 Hours)  
  1. The Mind of a Child & its Function:
    • Information processing in the child’s mind
    • The reading process in the child’s mind
    • The learning process in the child’s mind
  2. Student and Teacher Relationship:
    • Developing healthy student-teacher relationships
  3. Emotional Needs of Children:
    • Recognizing emotional needs in children
    • Social & domestic pressures
    • Building Self-Esteem
  4. Building Religious Growth:
    • Challenges of the 21st century
  5. Learning Disabilities:
    • Working with students’ learning disabilities
Program Graduation Date:
June 2011
Students who have successfully attended the program, completed required projects and received the recommendation of their mentors will be awarded a Certificate of Completion in Educational Training.
